Working closely with maintenance, engineering, and technical stakeholders, you will translate complex operational requirements into effective, integrated asset management solutions. You will also advise clients on maintenance best practices, guide testing and deployment activities, and contribute to continuous improvement. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced consultant who thrives on ownership, collaboration, and delivering measurable results in demanding environments.

Accountabilities:

As Principal SAP Plant Maintenance Consultant, you will lead functional solution design and implementation, ensuring maintenance processes align with operational requirements, technical standards, and client objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, configure, and implement SAP Plant Maintenance solutions, including functional locations, equipment, maintenance notifications, work orders, task lists, and maintenance plans.
  • Develop solutions that support maintenance operations for ships, aircraft, shore facilities, and other critical assets.
  • Coordinate integration between SAP PM and other SAP modules, including Materials Management (MM), Finance and Controlling (FICO), and Project Systems (PS).
  • Prepare detailed functional specifications for custom developments, reports, interfaces, and client-specific maintenance requirements.
  • Oversee unit and integration testing, coordinate defect resolution, and support user acceptance testing.
  • Support the migration and validation of maintenance master data, including equipment records, functional locations, task lists, and maintenance plans.
  • Provide post-go-live support to facilitate a smooth transition and help resolve issues affecting the maintenance management system.
  • Advise maintenance and engineering leaders on industry best practices and opportunities to improve asset readiness, maintenance efficiency, and SAP S/4HANA Asset Management capabilities.
  • Provide functional guidance and informal mentoring to consultants contributing to the PM solution.
  • Follow established quality assurance and information security processes, protecting sensitive information and supporting compliance with applicable security policies.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines extensive hands-on SAP Plant Maintenance experience with strong functional leadership, analytical capabilities, and the ability to advise clients in complex, integrated implementation environments. The following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 8 years of relevant SAP Plant Maintenance experience with a bachelor's degree, or 10 years without a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience delivering at least two full-cycle SAP PM implementations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and configuring SAP PM technical objects, maintenance notifications, work orders, and maintenance plans for corrective, preventive, and condition-based maintenance.
  • Experience integrating SAP PM with Materials Management (MM), Finance and Controlling (FICO), and Project Systems (PS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical and functional solutions.
  • Proven ability to advise clients on maintenance processes and best practices.
  • Experience collaborating with large, cross-functional teams and coordinating solution design and integration activities with functional and technical specialists.
