If you are passionate about promoting equity, safety, and compliance in educational or workplace environments—and you are looking to grow with a dynamic, values-driven organization that is shaping the future of institutional response systems—we would love to connect.

About the Opportunity

The Resolution Services Team provides expert support throughout the entire resolution process. Our team members help reduce the challenges of conducting investigations and live hearings by filling gaps in internal resources through on-site or remote support.

Under the direction of the Director of Resolution Services, the Senior Title IX–EEO–Civil Rights Investigator conducts impartial investigations and resolution processes involving allegations of sexual misconduct, harassment, discrimination, workplace misconduct, student code violations, and related matters involving students, faculty, or staff. Senior Investigators are expected to follow client policies and GRS standards throughout the resolution process. Additional duties may include participating in hearings (as chair or panel member), drafting decision reports, supporting informal resolutions, or advising during proceedings. Strong writing, analytical skills, and adherence to deadlines are essential.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Draft clear, accurate, and error-free correspondence related to complaint processing.
  • Conduct prompt, thorough investigations, including developing investigative plans, identifying and interviewing witnesses, gathering and securing evidence, and maintaining detailed records.
  • Engage in informal resolution processes, when appropriate, and document all steps in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct interviews, take accurate notes, draft interview summaries, and ask appropriate questions to gather relevant information about alleged misconduct, discrimination, retaliation, or harassment.
  • Assess and distinguish between directly related and relevant evidence.
  • Prepare high-quality written investigation reports with timely, in-depth analysis, credibility assessments, and clear fact-finding.
  • Participate in meetings, hearings, or grievance processes related to investigation outcomes; serve as a hearing officer or panel member as needed.
  • Understand and follow Grand River Solutions’ standards for investigations, resolutions, and report writing, as well as the specific policies, procedures, and timelines of client institutions.
  • Demonstrate independent judgment in determining lines of questioning, required documentation, and appropriate communications, with oversight and approvals as necessary.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information in compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
  • Stay current on relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title II, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504, ADA, FMLA, VAWA, and the Clery Act.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and represent Grand River Solutions with integrity at all times.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned, which may include drafting for colleagues, conducting informal resolutions, supporting appeals, or assisting with hearing processes.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Required Skills:
