About this role at Jobgether

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer (Full Stack) based in the United States.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will help build and evolve scalable infrastructure powering real-time voice and messaging experiences. You will take ownership of key platform components, contributing across frontend applications and backend services. Working in a collaborative, remote-first engineering environment, you will influence architectural decisions and drive high-quality software delivery. You will also help strengthen development practices, including the effective and responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools. Through technical leadership, mentorship, and hands-on problem-solving, you will contribute to platform reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a small team where engineering contributions directly shape the product.

Accountabilities

You will lead the development and continuous improvement of full-stack platform capabilities, taking responsibility for technical quality and reliable delivery from initial design through production.

  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack functionality across frontend applications and backend API services.
  • Own features and systems throughout their lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, release, production support, and incident response.
  • Lead architecture discussions and make pragmatic technical decisions that balance delivery speed, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Integrate AI-assisted development tools into daily workflows to accelerate implementation, testing, and debugging while maintaining code correctness and quality.
  • Help establish safe practices and review standards for AI-generated code.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and constructive design feedback.
  • Collaborate with product owners and QA teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver performant, maintainable software.
  • Improve technical planning, deployment pipelines, development tooling, monitoring, and debugging capabilities.
  • Promote strong testing practices, including unit and integration testing.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response when required, and ensure postmortem actions are followed through.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong full-stack engineering expertise with experience owning production systems, guiding technical decisions, and working collaboratively in a remote environment.

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, including ownership of production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience using modern frontend frameworks such as React and Angular.
  • Deep experience building and maintaining server-side applications in Java.
  • Regular hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, including code generation, refactoring, test development, and debugging, with the ability to validate outputs and take responsibility for their correctness.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps best practices, with a track record of improving engineering processes.
  • Solid knowledge of backend API systems, including RESTful APIs, JSON, HTTP, and microservice architectures.
  • Comfortable working with Git-based workflows, debugging across the stack, and shell scripting.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical discussions.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute within a collaborative remote team.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States and residence within the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with telecommunications or CPaaS systems, including SMS, SIP, and voice calling.
  • Experience working with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience building internal tools or agents.

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $140,000–$155,000 USD.
  • Healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, vision, and a Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Life insurance, including basic, voluntary, and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.
  • Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, public holidays, floating holidays, and quarterly holidays.
  • Monthly reimbursements for phone, internet, health, and wellness expenses.
  • Family leave, including maternity and paternity leave.
  • Opportunity to work from home.
  • Small-team environment offering direct impact, opportunities to contribute ideas, and meaningful mentorship.
