Founding LPA Engineer

Worldwide Placement Limited is seeking a Founding LPA Engineer to lead the development of laser-plasma accelerator technology for active muon imaging solutions. The company operates at the intersection of deep-tech physics and industrial applications, with headquarters in Hamburg and operations in Tallinn. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will assemble and lead the Muon Source team from the ground up, taking ownership of the complete technical vision.

You will oversee the development of a plasma source capable of withstanding extreme thermal loads at 100 Hz repetition rates, working with millions of consistent shots. Your responsibilities span the full technical stack: laser specifications, vacuum systems, laser transport lines, thermal management, and control systems. You will lead experimental campaigns at user facilities, iterate designs based on real beamtime data, and ensure the technology transitions from prototype to a transportable, 24/7 operational machine that fits in a shipping container.
